DRFC Coppinger amongst leaders in Actim Index

Doncaster Rovers midfielder James Coppinger`s great start to the season is recognised in the current Actim Index.

Coppinger is currently in eight place overall and is ranked third in the midfielders section.


Points are calculated on the player and team`s performance. It assesses a player`s contribution to his team and how many points they have won when he`s appeared.
It also takes into account the players own performance, with goals, assists, tackles, clearances and shots and time they are on the pitch.

Also in the top ten is former Doncaster Rovers midfielder Paul Green with his current club Derby County.

Rovers have three other players in the top 100, James O`Connor 35th with 192 points, Billy Sharp 50th 179 and Neil Sullivan 82nd with 161.

I must admit I wasn't a huge fan of Coppingers in his first few seasons with the club but in the last few seasons he's really improved.

He's never looked back since is play off hat trick. Was great work by Rovers to get him to sign a new three year deal earlier this season.
