Despite Sean O`Driscoll`s anger at the penalty award that changed the game he couldn`t hide his disappointment at his teams performance.
Rovers looked to be heading into the half time interval 1-0 ahead after Billy Sharp had fired the side into an early lead with a sublime finish in his first start since his hamstring injury in October.
Leicester controversially equalised from the spot on the stroke of half time and then overwhelmed Rovers in the second half as O`Driscoll felt his players didn`t turn up.
Speaking on the official website, O`Driscoll said, 'We didn't really turn up in the second half. The wheels came off. Our organisation and discipline went and we paid the price. In the second half we never turned up and we might as well have stayed in the dressing room."
To make matters worse former Rovers favourite Richie Wellens fired Leicester into the lead with a fine 25-yard strike after the Foxes had dominated the start of the second period.
Since his arrival at the Walker Stadium, Leicester boss Sven Goran Eriksson as put together a very strong side with a number of players loaned from the Premier League.
Kyle Naughton on loan from Tottenham Hotspur made it 3-1 and then former England international Darius Vassell made it four with his first goal for the club.
Martyn Waghorn made it five deep into stoppage time as Rovers players looked desperate to hear the final whistle to put them out of their misery.
After a decent run, Rovers have now suffered back-to-back defeats and in a division that is so close, they have slipped from seventh place to sixteenth.
Sean O`Driscoll will now have seven days to get his side ready for the clash at the Keepmoat against Middlesbrough next Saturday.
