'If It's Football, It's Vital'

DRFC Is O'Driscoll now staying?

The confusion surrounding Sean O`Driscoll continues as the media are now reporting that he`s turned down any offer from Sheffield United.

The on/off saga of the last few days seems to be finally over after a spokesperson for Rovers, speaking in the Doncaster Free Press said, 'We are all delighted Sean is staying with us to see the job through and continue pushing for the play-offs.'

In the last forty-eight hours, Rovers chairman John Ryan as stated firstly that O`Driscoll had not been in contact with the Blades only to then say on Sky Sports News on Thursday morning that he believed that O`Driscoll had been in talks with them.

Doncaster Rovers then issued a statement on their official website later in the afternoon that said:

Contrary to reports in the national press this morning Doncaster Rovers would like to confirm that Sean O'Driscoll has not accepted the post of manager at Sheffield United.

O'Driscoll also distanced himself from the media speculation linking him with the vacant manager`s job, when he said in the same statement, 'I am not part of the process of Sheffield United appointing a new manager.

'All the speculation that has surrounded this over the past week is extremely unhelpful and disruptive to the players and staff at both football clubs and is very unwelcome."

Hopefully this will now end the media speculation and Rovers can get on with a busy festive period that ironically finishes with a trip to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United.

However until United appoint a new manager I can see this rumbling on.

Does anyone honestly know whats happening yet, I still wouldn't write off him joining sheff Utd. I think it is just puting off the inevitable and I don't think it will be long before he does go.

na he's not coming...to all the dissapointment of the fans. he's by far our no 1 choice...no one else will get the fans backing like SOD thats a fact...micky adams will fail before he gets the job!!! unfortunately the board at the lane dont give a toss what the fans want....we are just the mugs who pay the mega prices week in week out......well not anymore if they screw this up with SOD!!

I listened to O'Driscoll on Football Heaven and it didn't sound all over to me although I understand you are now talking to Mickey Adams.
