DRFC Doncaster v Ipswich Head to Head

Vital Doncaster looks back at the previous encounters between Doncaster Rovers and Ipswich Town.

The two sides have only ever met on five previous occasions at Doncaster with three of those coming this century.

Rovers have won two and three have been drawn with Ipswich still looking for their first win at Doncaster.

In the 2004/05 season, League One Rovers caused a Carling cup upset when they beat Championship side Ipswich 2-0 at Belle Vue thanks to goals from Ricky Ravenhill and Jermaine McSporran.

Shelton Martis scored the only goal of the game in front of the live Sky TV cameras, when the sides met in Rovers first season back in the Championship in 2008/09.

The two sides served up a six-goal thriller at the Keepmoat last season. Rovers looked to be cruising to victory thanks to a Waide Fairhurst goal with only twenty-four minutes remaining.

Joe Colbeck equalised before Martin Woods fired Rovers back into the lead.

Within five minutes, Ipswich looked like taking the points back to Anglia after goals from Tamas Priskin and Lee Martin.

Rovers earned a point with just six minutes remaining when Quinton Fortune fired home his only goal for the club.
