DRFC Ipswich clash off after pitch inspection

Doncaster Rovers home Championship clash with Ipswich Town on Tuesday is off due to a frozen pitch.

Rovers called an early pitch inspection at 10.30am on Monday morning and match officials doing the inspection called it off immediately.

Rovers manager Sean O`Driscoll was present as was director of football at the club Mickey Walker.
Walker commented on the official website when he said, "In all my years in football, I have not seen a playing surface as solid as the one we have here at the Keepmoat."

The club now hope for a thaw ahead of the home clash on New Years Day against Scunthorpe United.

Rovers have now lost three games in December due to the big freeze with the home clash against Barnsley at the start of the month and yesterdays clash at Derby County being postponed.

No new date as yet been announced for when the fixture will be played.

There was never a chance that this game would get the go ahead. At least they have called it off early, unlike Boxing Day!

Why not install undersoil heating. A new ground and you go on about reaching the Premier League where you need undersoil heating.
