Rovers have had to scrap plans to organise a charter plane to the first game of the season.
Rovers had hoped to fly from Doncaster Robin Hood Airport up to Carlisle. However, the plane has been refused permission to land at Carlisle airport on safety grounds.
The plane was going to carry supporters and directors to the game at a cost of £150 per person.
Commercial Manager Ray Thomas said: 'Even though it is only a 30-seater plane it is too big to land there due to work currently being carried out at the airport. It is very disappointing because we had almost sold all of the seats.
'Hopefully we will be able to fly to other games next season.'
