DRFC Ipswich v Doncaster Head to Head

Vital Doncaster looks at the head to head record between Ipswich Town and Doncaster Rovers throughout the years at Portman Road.

This will only be the fifth ever meeting between the two sides at Ipswich.

In the previous four, Ipswich have won two, Doncaster one and one draw.

The first encounter between the two sides was in 1954 when Ipswich won 5-1.

Three seasons later, they met again, with Ipswich again winning, this time 2-0.

The two clubs then had to wait over 50 years before the crossed swords again.

Rovers came out victorious when they won 3-1 thanks to goals from Gareth Roberts, Paul Heffernan and James Hayter.

When they met last season they shared their first draw when the game finished 1-1.

Connor Wickham fired the home side into the lead with just seventeen minutes remaining only for Dean Shiels to equalise for Rovers ten minutes later from the penalty spot.
