DRFC Stock signs new deal with Rovers

Doncaster Rovers captain Brian Stock has signed a new contract with the club.

Stock has signed a new two and a half year deal at the Keepmoat to keep him with the club until the summer of 2013.

The midfielder was in the last year of his contract and looked to be heading out of the door at the Keepmoat in the summer, after negotiations between Stock and the club seemed to break down during the autumn.

Stock has made over 150 appearances for Rovers since his arrival in 2006 and as been an integral part of the clubs rise to the Championship.

Guess that has to be good news for you. We had been looking at him and wondering if we could get him. At least that is now going to cost us more if we were to go for him so you would be better off.

This completes some great work by the staff at Doncaster this seaso. They have managed to get four very key players to sign new contracts in Martin Woods, James Coppinger, James Chambers and now Brian Stock.

A mate of mine is his neighbour and he said Stock was gutted when it looked like Rovers were forcing him out earlier in the season.
