Ravers At The Deva

Ricky Ravenhill has today finally signed for Chester City. A host of clubs including Grimsby Town, Boston United, Yeovil Town, Rotherham United and Lincoln City has shown interest in signing him. Chester paid in the region of £50k for Ricky's servcies.

Ravenhill is the third player to move from Belle Vue to the Deva Stadium this summer. Chester had already signed Jermaine McSporran and Simon Marples who Rovers both released. Chester also have ex-Rovers Kevin Sandwith and Gregg Blundell.

The popular hard working midfielder made 159 appearances and scored 10 goals for him home town club. He also holds the Rovers club record for the most yellow cards.

Ravenhill will miss the first league game of the season due to suspension from last season.

Ricky joined Rovers on a free from Barnsley. He spent a loan spell at Napier City Rovers (New Zealand) during his time at Barnsey

Ricky has signed a 2 year deal for Chester City.

He is a very good player and I am surprised that we let him go. He has improved every season for us. Good luck Ricky. I am sure that if you ever come to watch a Donny game in the future you will be given a very warm welcome.
