Macca Joins Dingles

Macca Joins Dingles

Winger Michael McIndoe has today joined local rivals Barnsley for an undisclosed fee.

McIndoe has, understandably, always had his sights on the Championship, and at 27, felt that this could be his last chance. McIndoe made it clear at the end of last season that he wanted to move to a higher placed league club, but unfortunately for the player, no team came in with a bid for him, until Barnsley, promoted at the end of last season via the play-offs made a bid.

McIndoe, although having been a star player in his time at Belle Vue, may face Rovers fans wrath, after comments he made about Doncaster on the Dingles official site:

'Leaving Doncaster Rovers was easy to be honest and I was never going to stay as soon as I knew that Barnsley were interested'.

'Being completely honest I think Barnsley is a bigger club than Doncaster.'

Barnsley, tipped to be relegated this coming season, have made little impact in the transfer market until now. After Macca's poor spell on loan at Derby, this could be seen as good business by Rovers and it is only right to let a player move to a higher placed side if he wishes.

During his time at Rovers, he helped the team win the Third Division title.

If all else fails for McIndoe, he could pursue a career in stand-up comedy, after he said 'I cannot wait to be associated with the Barnsley people and supporters.'

It now remains to be seen whether Dave Penney replaces Macca, or whether, James Coppinger, who played remarkably well on the left towards the end of the season fills his place.
