DRFC Doncaster v Leicester Head To Head

Vital Doncaster looks at the head to head record between Doncaster and Leicester at both Belle Vue and the Keepmoat over the years.

Despite both clubs long histories this will be only the fourteenth clash between the two sides.

In the previous thirteen, Doncaster have won four, Leicester three and there have been six draws.

The first time the two met was during the 1901/02 season when Leicester were known as Leicester Fosse. Doncaster earned the points with a 2-1 win in a Second Division encounter.

Leicester had to wait until their tenth visit to Belle Vue before enjoying their first victory, when they won a Second Division clash 2-0 in February1954.

Rovers gained revenge in the next meeting when they recorded their biggest win with a 6-2 victory in September 1955.

Leicester have won the last two encounters with Rovers failing to score including the only ever encounter at the Keepmoat.

Martyn Waghorn scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 victory for the visitors in what was the first encounter between the two in just over fifty years.

Draws seem to be the favourite, I would take another one.
