DRFC Sharp and Coppinger the big winners

Doncaster Rovers duo James Coppinger and Billy Sharp were the big winners at the clubs end of season awards dinner.

Club record signing Billy Sharp won the Player of the Year after scoring sixteen goals, despite missing a number of games through injury during the season.

Coppinger, who picked up the fans Player of the Season last week, collected the Players Player of the Year as well as the Goal of the Season for his strike in the 3-1 home win over Norwich City.

The clubs longest serving player finished the game with an hat trick and the win against the side who eventually claimed second place in the division was also voted game of the season.

The Youth Player of the Year went to first year youth team midfielder Liam Wakefield.

Both players deserve their awards. Good seasons by both. Shame Sharp missed a chunk or he would have been close to leading goalscorer in the division.

Coppinger seems to improve with every season. Got to hold onto Sharp in the summer.
