DRFC Rovers release Brooker and Webster

Doncaster Rovers have released duo Steve Brooker and Byron Webster.

Brooker has struggled with injury since arriving at the Keepmoat in January 2009.

The 29 year old initially joined Rovers on loan in November 2008 and scored on his debut as a second half substitute at Watford.

The striker was forced to return to Bristol City the following week through injury.

Since his arrival, Brooker made just two starts and thirteen substitute appearances.

He scored his only goal at the Keepmoat in Rovers last home game of the season in the 1-1 draw with Leicester City.

Webster joined Rovers in the summer of 2009 after a successful trail at the club but has struggled to gain a regular starting place.

The 24 year old made just fourteen appearances for Rovers with just three of them being starts.

The defender also had spells on loan at Hereford and Northampton last season.

He finished the season with Northampton making eight appearances.

Webster seen at Sixfields apparently! Funny that.

Could never understand the signing of Brooker. He'd been plagued with injuries at Bristol City and was actually injured when he signed for Rovers. Always on the treatment table. I wonder how much he's cost us per minute on the pitch?
