DRFC O'Driscoll - Not a realistic bid for duo

Doncaster Rovers boss Sean O`Driscoll believes the offer made by Ipswich Town for Rovers pair Billy Sharp and James Coppinger was well below their true value.

Ipswich offered a reported 2.6 million for the pair, 2.3 million for Sharp and 300,000 for Coppinger.

Speaking in the Doncaster Free Press , O`Driscoll said, "Every player has their price but the bid was way short of Billy`s valuation.
"Copps is a slightly different case because of his age.
"But the bid has got to be realistic and it wasn`t a realistic bid for someone of James` quality."

Sharp finished the season as top scorer for Rovers, notching 16 goals despite missing seventeen games through injury.

The forward signed for Rovers for a club record transfer 1.15 million last summer after enjoying the previous season on loan from Sheffield United.

The 25 year old has now scored 31 goals 66 appearances in his two seasons at the Keepmoat.

Coppinger enjoyed an excellent season for Rovers and picked up the clubs player of the season.

The 30 year old scored seven goals last season and he was amongst the leading players in the championship, with assists to goals.

The midfielder is the longest serving player for Rovers, making almost 300 appearances since signing in 2004.

think the bid for Coppinger was especially stingy, the lads in the form of his life and was amongst the leading players on the stats last season.
