DRFC Rovers injury update

Doncaster Rovers physio John Dickens is still a busy man despite the season finishing four weeks ago.

Rovers suffered an injury crisis in the second half of last season, which at one stage saw them have fourteen players on the injury list.

With the season now over a number of players are still recovering from operations that were required during and after last season.

Goalkeeper Gary Woods is still in a boot after requiring surgery towards the end of last season and he will be assessed after returning from his holiday.

George Friend will return for pre season training along with the rest of the squad after completing his rehabilitation from a hernia operation.

Brian Stock is another still in a boot after having ankle surgery at the end of the season.
The club captain is not expected to be back in action until the end of the year.

Paul Keegan is having surgery again next week to tidy up the surgery he had on his knee in March.

Keegan is expected to be fit in time for the new season although he is still to sign a new contract with the club.

Steve Brooker is also still in a boot after ankle surgery at the end of the season.

Despite being released by Rovers at the end of last season, the striker is continuing his rehabilitation at the club and he could still be offered a new deal.

Adam Lockwood will see his specialist next week for an update on his knee injury that required surgery last season.

James Chambers will also see his specialist next week after also undergoing surgery on a knee injury last season.

Shelton Martis continues to strengthen his ankle whilst on his summer break.

The defender turned down the option of surgery on his ankle at the end of last season and he is hoping the injury will heel during the summer.

With one central defender released and three others already struggling for the start of next season it looks worrying.
