DRFC Sharp eyeing Premier League

Doncaster Rovers striker Billy Sharp is craving to play in the Premier League.

Sharp has already had enquiries made about him from fellow Championship side Ipswich Town since the end of the season, with the club turning down a reported £2.3 million bid.

The 25 year old is happy at Doncaster Rovers but admits an approach from a Premier League club might have him thinking about a move away from the Keepmoat. Speaking in the Doncaster Star, Sharp said, "Had it been a Premier League club then it might have been a different matter."

The clubs record signing has not help but notice this week fellow strikers from the Championship moving into the Premier League.

The Championships leading goalscorer last season, Danny Graham (Watford) and another player amongst the leading goalscorers, Steve Morison (Millwall) have both joined newly promoted Premier League clubs Swansea City and Norwich City respectively.

Last seasons leading goalscorer managed to find the net on sixteen occasions despite missing a chunk of the season through injury.

Seeing Sharp stay at the keepmoat would be excellent news for us. to be honest i wouldnt be heartbroken to see him move on to the premiership but a move to another championship club would be a kick in the teeth

Having turned down moves to other championship clubs last season I doubt he would move to another championship club. Obviously it must be every players ambition to play in the Premier League and hard to stand in a players way.

Realistically not good enough for thr Prem

I really hope he stays but if any premier league side wants him then it will be hard for him to turn his back on the opportunity.

Paul Jewell says Ipswich are no longer interested. Lets hope he is still at Rovers when the transfer window closes.
