DRFC Tranmere date arranged

Tranmere Rovers have announced on their official website that the Carling Cup tie between Doncaster Rovers and Tranmere Rovers will take place on Tuesday August 9th.

The game at the Keepmoat will kick off at 7.45pm with the winners hoping for a money spinning tie against Premier League opposition in the second round.

Last season Rovers went out at the first round stage to League Two side Accrington Stanley 2-1 at the Keepmoat after extra time.

Tranmere beat fellow League One opposition Walsall 1-0 in the first round last year before going out to Swansea 3-1 at home in the second round.

Not surprised its on the Tuesday. Never expected it to be one of the chosen TV games.

I don't know why we don't try midweek games on the Monday or Wednesday. There are so many teams close to Doncaster and all generally play their midweek games on Tuesday. If we changed our day we might get a few more through the gate.
