DRFC Rovers ready for Yorkshire Masters

Doncaster Rovers will once again take their place in the Yorkshire Masters this Sunday at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield starting at 6pm.

Also lining up in the Yorkshire Masters are Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds United, Huddersfield Town and Barnsley for a place in the grand final in September.

The night will see the teams split into two groups of three teams, with the winners of each group meeting in the final.

The tournament is open to former players of the club over the age of 35.

All teams will have a eight man squad with Lee Butler, Tim Ryan, Gary Brabin, Steve Gaughan, Duane Darby,Chris Swales, Scott Maxfield and Sir Francis Tierney lining up for Rovers.

Last year Rovers went out at the group stage, drawing one and losing one in their games against Barnsley and Hull City.

Barnsley went on to win last years Yorkshire Masters beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 in the final, to win it for the second year in a row.

Tickets are still available for the event or can be seen live on Sky Sports One at 6pm.

Rovers just missed someone who could hold onto the ball which is essential in masters football.
