DRFC Rovers turn down £2.8 million Sharp offer

According to reports on Sky Sports, Doncaster Rovers have turned down a £2.8 million offer for Striker Billy Sharp from an unnamed championship club.

Rovers have already turned down a £2.3 million offer from Ipswich Town this summer.

Sharp has finished the last two seasons as top scorer at the Keepmoat.

The 25 year old has scored 31 goals in 66 appearances in his two seasons at the club.

The striker signed for Rovers last summer for a club record £1.15 million deal from Sheffield United after a successful season long loan.

Rovers have yet to comment on the rumours.

How much can the board turn down these offfers. The club are running at a big loss each season and the season tickets sales are well down on last year.

Amazing to see Rovers turning down this sort of money.

There's got to be a price where we'll sell. But the club probably know unless they spend on a decent replacement we'll go down. There are no other out and out strikers on the books. Personally, I would have taken the 150% "mark-up" on him and look elsewhere. Maybe someone who doesn't spit his dummy and a llittle less injury-prone.
