DRFC Rovers looking at Tranmere youngster
Doncaster Rovers assistant manager Richard O`Kelly says the club are checking out young defensive duo Tommy Spurr and Aaron Cresswell.
Rovers are currently in the market for a left back after George Friend successfully moved into a central defensive role last season.
Spurr has been linked with a move to the Keepmoat for the past few weeks, with reports suggesting that Rovers have agreed a £200,000 deal for the 23 year old.
With the deal still not confirmed, Rovers now seem to be turning their attention to the 21-year-old Tranmere Rovers left back.
O`Kelly speaking in the Doncaster Star said, "We know about Aaron Cresswell. He is someone who came to the fore last season and has got better and better.
"I don`t like talking about other clubs players but Tommy Spurr seems surplus to requirements at Sheffield Wednesday and Cresswell is out of contract at Tranmere."
Cresswell is out of contract at Prenton Park and Tranmere will receive a fee because of the players age should he leave.
Tranmere boss Les Parry has already turned down an offer from an unnamed championship club. Speaking on the Tranmere official website , Parry said, "We`ve had a bid from a championship club which we`ve turned down. It was way lower than what we expect for him."
The young left back made 46 appearances last season, scoring four times for the club.
