DRFC Rovers remain unmoved

Doncaster Rovers remain unmoved as clubs continue to try and lure away their prized assets.

Rovers turned down a £2.6 million bid for Billy Sharp and James Coppinger at the end of last season from Ipswich Town.

Town offered £2.3 million for Sharp and £300,000 for Coppinger, with both bids being turned down.

They have now reportedly come back with an improved bid of £400,000 for Coppinger, which as once again been turned down by the club.

A number of championship clubs are reported to be watching Billy Sharp, with Rovers turning down a reported £2.8 million bid from an unnamed championship club.

Southampton are reported to have joined the hunt along with Ipswich for the striker who netted sixteen times last season.

Rovers chairman John Ryan also confirmed that the club have received enquiries about defender George Friend.

Ryan is desperately trying to hold onto the key players despite announcing recently that the club run at a £1.5 million loss each year.

I honestly can't see Rovers holding onto the pair. This sort of money must be really hard to turn down. I think they do realise though that both players would be very hard to replace. Not many teams have a fifteen goal plus striker in the top two divisions.

Good on you Rovers but how much longer can they keep saying no?
