DRFC First signing confirmed

Doncaster Rovers have made their first signing of the summer, capturing Tommy Spurr from Sheffield Wednesday.

Spurr signs on a two year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The left back joins Rovers after falling out of favour with new Wednesday boss Gary Megson after his arrival in February.

The 23 year old made over 200 appearances for Wednesday after breaking into the first team at 18 years old.

Good move for all parties I think. Tommy's a good lad who always gives 110% but just lost his way and his confidence slightly.

I have always liked what I've seen when Wednesday have been shown on the TV. Remember him scoring a screamer for them in one live game.

I think this is a great signing. A youngster with plenty of experience. Bit disappointed that it is only a two year deal.
