DRFC Spurr - It was a no-brainer

New Doncaster Rovers player Tommy Spurr says the decision to join Rovers was a 'no-brainer` after completing his move from Sheffield Wednesday.

The defender signed a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee after undergoing a medical on Tuesday.

The 23 year old has been a regular in the Wednesday side since making his debut at 18 but fell down the pecking order after the arrival of new boss Gary Megson last season.

Speaking on the official website , Spurr said, "When I knew Doncaster were interested, I was more than delighted to speak to them and over the moon to sign, as I knew Wednesday were not wanting to keep me.
When I spoke to Sean, he made me feel like he wanted me to come and play for him. The decision to sign was a no-brainer, especially with Rovers being a Championship club, as you always want to play at the highest level you can."

Rovers are hoping to finalise their second signing of the summer on Wednesday, with Richard Naylor undergoing a medical.

The defender will arrive on a free transfer after being released by Leeds United at the end of last season.

went backwards at ours like so many before him. Too slow for a full back, often skinned but can never fault his effort.
