DRFC Former loan player on trial at Preston

DRFC Former loan player on trial at Preston

Joseph Mills who enjoyed a successful loan spell at Doncaster Rovers last season is currently on trial at Preston North End.

The left back seems surplus to requirements at Southampton after being left out of their pre season tour to Switzerland, with three other left backs in their touring party.

Mills joined up with League One side Preston and came off the bench in their midweek pre season friendly at Fleetwood.

The 21 year old enjoyed a very productive loan spell at the Keepmoat last season, scoring twice in sixteen appearances.

Mills joined Rovers in October and eventually remained until the end of the season although injuries limited his appearances.

The youngster still has one year remaining on his contract and it is unclear as to whether Southampton would want a fee for his services.

Really liked the look of Mills. Defended well and got forward. Would like to see him return to Rovers.

Same here! I'd prefer to have Mills than Spurr.

I liked Mills but he spent too much time injured. We can't afford to take that chance with our injury record.
