DRFC O'Kelly impressed by duo

Doncaster Rovers Assistant manager Richard O`Kelly has been impressed with trialists Allan Quinn and Kevin McDonald.

Quinn was released by Ipswich Town at the end of last season after injuries ruined his time at Portman Road.

The former Sheffield United and Wednesday player joined up with Rovers last week and played a half in Tuesday`s 1-0 win at Mansfield Town.

Speaking in the Doncaster Star, O`Kelly said, "Allan Quinn is an experienced player and he does what it says on the tin.
"He keeps the ball well and understands what he is doing both with and without it. I thought it was another good work-out at Mansfield on Tuesday. We again fielded two different teams and the players showed a good understanding and enthusiasm.'

Kevin McDonald who has been with Rovers since the start of pre-season has also impressed O`Kelly.

McDonald was released by Burnley at the end of last season after making just one substitute appearance last season.

"He`s been with us for a couple of weeks and he`s enjoying it here. He seems to get better with every session and he`s looking the part," said O`Kelly.

Rovers boss Sean O`Driscoll admitted in the week that the club were in negotiations with McDonald regarding a contract at the Keepmoat.
