DRFC Rovers win at Sheffield United

Doncaster Rovers came away from Bramall Lane with a win thanks to a long-range effort from Simon Gillett.

Boss Sean O`Driscoll gave another opportunity to a number of trialists with Rachid Bouhenna starting the game.

Four more trialists were involved during the second half as O`Driscoll once again used all of his travelling squad of twenty-one players.

The home side had the majority of the first half chances but neither side put a serious effort on target.

O`Driscoll decided to wait until the hour mark before making wholesale changes to his starting eleven.

The only goal of the game came with just eighteen minutes remaining when Gillett fired home from distance for his second goal of pre season, both goals coming from long-range.

Back to winning ways after the disappointment of Carlisle at the weekend and Rovers now finish off their pre season programme with a trip to Grimsby Town on Friday.
