DRFC Doncaster v Nottingham Forest Head To Head

DRFC Doncaster v Nottingham Forest Head To Head

Doncaster Rovers and Nottingham Forest clash at the Keepmoat on Tuesday night and we look at the head to head record over the years at Doncaster.

The two sides have been regular opponents since the turn of the century but they have only ever met on nineteen occasions.

Forest have the better record having won nine to Doncaster`s six with four being drawn.

The first ever clash was in the Second Division on Christmas Day 1935 when they shared the points in a 0-0 draw.

For the record they met at the City Ground a day later where Forest won 6-2.

They met again just over two weeks later at Belle Vue in the FA Cup, with Forest winning this one 2-1.

Rovers first victory came after the Second World War when they recorded a 2-0 win on Boxing Day 1947. Again, they met a day later at the City Ground with Forest gaining revenge with a 4-2 win.

Rovers enjoyed their biggest win during the 1955/56 season when they won an FA Cup Third Round clash 3-0.

Forest enjoyed their biggest win in a League Cup clash during Rovers ill fated 1997/98 season when they put eight past Rovers in an 8-0 win.

Rovers have a good recent history and are unbeaten in their previous five home games against Forest.

Rovers have only ever scored more than one goal twice in the nineteen meetings between the two, the last one coming ten games ago in 1956.

Included in this was the last ever game at Belle Vue when a Theo Streete goal was enough to secure the three points for Rovers in a 1-0. Ironically, Streete was on loan to Rovers from Forest`s biggest rivals Derby County.

When the two sides met last season, they shared the points in a 1-1 draw. Dexter Blackstock opened the scoring for Forest, which was quickly cancelled out by Rovers defender Adam Lockwood.
