DRFC Players slowly returning
Doncaster Rovers boss Sean O`Driscoll says there is a glimmer of light at the end of a very long tunnel with Brian Stock and Shelton Martis closing in on a return to full training.
Whilst O`Driscoll is desperate to have the pair back in his much-depleted squad, he still knows he has to balance whether to leave them until they are 100% fit or rush them back, as Rovers are already in the relegation zone, without a point from their first three games.
Speaking on the official website, O`Driscoll said, "Shelton Martis and Brian Stock will probably be back into the training squad by the end of the week. We then have the dilemma of at what point do you put them back into the team. If you put them in when they're not ready they will be more prone to another injury, but if you leave them until they're 100 percent ready you could lose two or three weeks. We need bodies at the minute more so than anything else. We'll see how they feel, they have worked extremely hard in the gym but John (Dickens) won't put them back into training unless he feels they can cope with it. There is a little bit of light at the end of a very long tunnel.'
Rovers are slowly welcoming back players with both Mark Wilson and Paul Keegan back in the squad in the last week after the pair missed pre season through injury.
Despite the good news of players returning, they still have a lengthy injury list with Adam Lockwood, James Chambers, James O`Connor, Martin Woods, Billy Sharp, James Hayter and Ryan Mason on the sidelines.
