Doncaster Rovers defender Richard Naylor is tipping the side to start climbing the table once some of the injured players return.
Rovers are currently bottom of the championship and without a point from four games. Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Naylor said, "I think once we get all our players fit and there is competition for places we will do well. At the moment we are very thin on the ground, a couple of the lads are having to play with injuries. We are having to bring players in on loan that are having to go straight into the side, which isn`t ideal."
Rovers have had a nightmare run with injuries since the turn of 2011 and at one stage they had fourteen players on the sidelines.
They were without seven players through long term injuries on the opening day of the season and their woes were added to when influential duo Billy Sharp and James Hayter were injured at Brighton.
Ryan Mason quickly joined them on the sidelines when he suffered ligament damage in the game with Tranmere Rovers.
Naylor is still confident and feels there has been enough in some of the performances to suggest they can turn things around but they need to start taking their chances. "Things aren`t going well for us but I think we have shown enough in some of the games that we have competed well against sides like West Ham and Nottingham Forest. Neutrals watching the game for long spells would say we were the better side but being the better side doesn`t win you matches unless you put the ball in the back of the net," he continued.
There is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. Brian Stock, Shelton Martis, James Hayter and James O`Connor have all returned to training and are closing in on a return.
