DRFC Peterborough v Doncaster Form Guide

Vital Doncaster looks at the form of both Peterborough United and Doncaster Rovers going into today`s game at London Road.

Peterborough

The Posh have settled into life in the championship this season after winning promotion from League One last season.

Under the stewardship of Darren Ferguson they are currently in seventh place with thirteen points from nine games.

They recorded their first away win of the season in midweek when they came away from Portsmouth with a 3-2 win thanks to an injury time own goal.

At home they have been solid, picking up nine points from a possible twelve.

On the opening day they beat Crystal Palace 2-1, they followed this up with a 7-1 demolition of Ipswich Town, before suffering their only home defeat of the season so far when Hull beat them 1-0.

In their last home game they got back to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Burnley.

Despite the departure of leading goalscorer Craig Mackail-Smith in the summer, they are not struggling to score goals having netted on 17 occasions already this season. Only Southampton have scored more, having netted 20 times.

Doncaster
Rovers have picked up four points in the last week under new manager Dean Saunders.

They battled to a 1-0 home win over Crystal Palace last Saturday before drawing with Hull 1-1 in midweek, also at the Keepmoat.

Away from home they are still searching for their first point having being beatan at Brighton (2-1), Derby (3-0), Cardiff (2-0) and Reading (2-0).

Rovers have gone 331 minutes since their last away goal when Billy Sharp netted at Brighton.

The striker is now fit again after suffering ligament damage in the same game and he will be hoping to fire Rovers up the table.

Despite four points in their last two games, Rovers are still at the foot of the table with just five points from their opening nine games.

Rovers need to start picking up points away from home. Players are coming back and a new manager. Quietly confident today.
