DRFC Premier League midfielder in Rovers trial

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Herold Goulon is having a trial at the Keepmoat as new boss Dean Saunders looks to bolster his squad even further.

Saunders brought in ex Blackburn defender Pascal Chimbonda last week and he is still looking to strengthen his squad as he tries to move Rovers away from the bottom of the championship table.

Goulon was the unnamed trialist on the team sheet last week, when he played in the behind closed doors friendly with Chesterfield.

Saunders confirmed that the French under 21 international is at the Keepmoat and enjoying a trial with the club when he said, 'He played in the Reserve game last week and he's coming in for a week's training today. Blackburn have given him permission to come and train with us and if I think that he is better than what we've got I'll try and do something about it. In the situation we are in we've got to try and persuade players that if they play for Doncaster that they are in the shop window. If they want to play in the Premiership it's no use not playing wherever they are they may as well come and play for us and if we are lucky they might stay.'

The 23 year old joined Blackburn in the summer of 2010 on a two-year deal after a trail with the Ewood Park club.

After struggling to gain regular first team football last season with Blackburn, where he made just one start and three substitute appearances, the midfielder has been told he is free to talk to other clubs.

Saunders will look at Goulon in two behind closed doors friendlies this week.

Saunders seems to be attracting players that O'Driscoll couldn't

But how are we getting them? Seems strange that we can suddenly attract premier league players to the Keepmoat, ones that will also be on big wages.
