DRFC Rovers beat Man Utd in friendly

Doncaster Rovers beat Manchester United 1-0 in a behind closed doors friendly.

George Friend scored the only goal of the game in the first half as Rovers boss Dean Saunders gave almost the whole of his squad a run out against a very young Manchester United side.

The game took place at Manchester United`s Carrington training ground as Rovers played their second friendly of the week, with the international break taking centre stage and championship sides without a game.

Man United had Reece Brown in their side, who spent a month on loan with Rovers at the start of the season.

Rovers goal came in the sixteenth minute when Friend scored with an overhead kick from close range.

There was a scare for Rovers early on when Brian Stock was replaced as a precaution after a poor challenge.

Billy Sharp continued his return to full fitness by playing his first full 90 minutes of the season.

Adam Lockwood also played another 45 minutes after his long term lay off.

Looks like he was keen to keep them all on their toes this week. Where is Chimbonda?
