DRFC Saunders looking for run to continue

New Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders is delighted with the start made by his new side and he is now looking to for the side to push on towards the top end of the table.

Rovers have taken seven points from three games since his arrival. The turnaround has come after taking just one point from their opening seven games, which saw them falling behind the teams directly above them.

A win in his first game stopped them from equalling a club record twenty games without a win when they beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at the Keepmoat.

They followed that up with a point in a 1-1 home draw with Hull City.

Rovers went into the international break with a hard fought 2-1 win at Peterborough United, which lifted them off the bottom and into twentieth place in the table.

Saunders is now hoping the side can continue where they left off before the international break and he knows that in an ultra competitive championship that a run of wins can see you quickly move up the table.

Speaking in the Doncaster Star, Saunders said, "To get seven points is great and it is a good start for us.
"We are off the bottom and if we can win three games on the trot we will be half way up the league. I expect to win every game. Realistically you can`t, but that is the way my mind works."

Rovers will face a national audience in their next game when the Sky cameras will be at the Keepmoat on Friday night for their Yorkshire derby against Leeds United.

They will be looking to exact a little revenge after going out of the Carling Cup to Leeds in August.

Rovers need to start being consistent at home. Also need to start turning up in the first half.

Top priority, clean sheets, maybe Chris Kirkland could help in this department.
