DRFC Rovers back in bottom three

Doncaster Rovers find themselves back in the bottom three after the weekend results in the championship.

Rovers had already dropped a place after their home defeat to Leeds United on Friday night.

Coventry City were the big winners at the bottom of the table as they overcame midlands rivals Nottingham Forest 1-0 at the Ricoh Arena. The result saw Coventry leapfrog Forest in the table, who themselves also dropped back below Rovers on goal difference.

Millwall got an unlikely point at Middlesbrough in a 1-1 draw to climb out of the bottom three.

Bottom club Bristol City continue to struggle, as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Peterborough United.

Portsmouth pulled away from the relegation zone with a 2-0 home win over Barnsley at Fratton Park.

At the top of the table, West Ham were the only winners in the top ten with a 4-0 demolition of Tuesday`s opponents Blackpool at Upton Park.

Blackpool were actually the only losers in the top half as six of the top ten were involved in draws.

The game of the day saw Derby County and Southampton draw 1-1 at Pride Park.

The draw keeps Southampton at the top of the table, whilst Derby dropped to fourth.

West Ham moved into second with their win and they travel to Southampton on Tuesday night.

Middlesbrough remain third after their draw and Brighton and Hull City, who drew 0-0 at the Amex Stadium are fifth and sixth

Friday`s opponents, Leeds United were the big movers in the championship this weekend climbing four places to seventh.

There is a full round of fixtures in the championship in midweek with Rovers travelling to Blackpool on Tuesday night.

The rest of the bottom six in the table also face tricky games in midweek against teams in the top half of the table.

Bottom placed Bristol City travel to eighth placed Crystal Palace. Second bottom Nottingham Forest entertain third placed Middlesbrough. Fourth bottom Millwall face fifth placed Brighton at the Den. Watford travel to big spending Leicester City and sixth bottom Coventry City travel to seventh placed Leeds.

Rovers had to drop at least one place with Coventry playing Forest. Was surprised to see Millwall getting a point at Middlebrough. All the bottom sides have got hard games in midweek so can't see many getting points.
