DRFC Goalkeeper crisis for Rovers

DRFC Goalkeeper crisis for Rovers

Doncaster Rovers have a goalkeeper crisis with Chris Kirkland and Gary Woods both injured.

Woods suffered a collarbone injury in training on Sunday and he is expected to be out for around two weeks with the injury.

Kirkland joined Rovers last week on loan from Wigan Athletic until the New Year and he made his debut in Friday night`s defeat to Leeds United.

The 30 year old has suffered a reoccurrence of a back injury and he has returned to his parent club for treatment.

Veteran goalkeeper Neil Sullivan returned to the side in the 2-1 defeat at Blackpool on Tuesday night.

17-year-old youth team goalkeeper Jonathan Maxted was named on the bench for the game at Blackpool.

Pretty much as Wigan supporters warned us, wouldn`t last two minutes. If good old Sully could only slow it down a bit more he could last till he`s 65!!!

The main reason he dropped out a favor at Wigan was his consistent back injury. Shame really because he's a very good keeper.
