DRFC Walker - New signings will benefit everyone

Doncaster Rovers Director of football Mickey Walker believes the signings coming into the club will benefit the existing players and the club.

Rovers have agreed a deal with football agent Willie McKay that will see him bring in high profile players into the club on a short-term deal, to put them into the shop window for a more lucrative move.

McKay has already helped the club with the arrival of experienced Premier League and international footballers Pascal Chimbonda, Herita Ilunga and El Hadji Diouf.

Walker believes that their experience and quality will benefit all the players. Speaking on Sky Sports, Walker said, "Having world class players at this football club helps the other players, because when you play with better players you play better yourself.
"It is better for the club, it will lift the club to where we want to be and it will make the supporters vibrant. We are a proper football club, moving in the right direction, we are not just the 'little Doncaster` that people used to think."

Diouf has become an instant hit since arriving at The Keepmoat last week and he scored twice in Rovers 3-2 win at Ipswich Town on Saturday, their first win in six games.

Rovers remain bottom despite the win but things could be looking up for Rovers, with more names continuously being linked with a move to the Keepmoat.

Rovers now have a two week break due to the internationals before returning with three games in a row against sides all struggling in the championship this season.

I wonder whether it will have a detremental effect with some. Long term contract players can't get near the first team because of these players wanting to put themselves in the shop window.
