DRFC Wilson ready for Rovers exit

Doncaster Rovers on loan midfielder Mark Wilson believes his future lays away from the Keepmoat Stadium.

Wilson is currently on loan at League One side Walsall having failed to break into the Rovers side since the arrival of new manager Dean Saunders.

Speaking in the Express and Star, Wilson said, "I`m not even a fringe player any more. I`ve gone from five-and-a-half-years of being involved every week to a new manager coming in and wanting new players, which is understandable."

Wilson is enjoying his time at Walsall and is hoping to extend his stay. My short-term future is here for the next three or four games and I`d like to extend that into January, which is a big month.

"I`m happy here at the moment and I`m really enjoying my football - which I haven`t been able to say for a while," he continued.

The 32 year old scored his first goal for Walsall since joining in their 1-1 draw at Exeter City on Saturday.

The game at Exeter was in the first round of the FA Cup and it seems to suggest his time at the Keepmoat is coming to an end after Rovers gave him permission to play for Walsall and be cup tied.

Wilson is one of the longest serving players at Rovers have signed for the club full time in 2006.
