DRFC Dutch international in Rovers talks

Doncaster Rovers are in discussions with former Holland international Bolo Zenden according to Radio Sheffield.

The 35 year old is currently without a club after being released by Sunderland at the end of last season.

The midfielder would bring a wealth of experience to the Keepmoat having played 54 times for his national side.

He featured in the Euro 2000 and 2004 championships as well as the 2002 world cup finals.

He has won a number of honours during his footballing career. He has won the Dutch and Spanish titles with PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona respectively.

Zenden came to England in 2001, signing for Chelsea and picked up a FA Cup final runners-up medal in his first season at Stamford Bridge.

During a loan spell with Middlesbrough in 2004 he helped the Teesside club lift the Carling Cup.

He moved onto Liverpool in 2005 and helped the Mersey giants lift the 2005 Super Cup and a runners-up medal in the 2006 Champions League final.

After a spell in France with Marseille, Zenden returned to England to play for Sunderland in 2009.

Zenden scored in his final appearance for Sunderland on the final day of last season, when he opened the scoring against West Ham.
