DRFC Saunders hoping to take advantage

Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders is hoping that his side can take advantage of Birmingham`s busy schedule when the sides meet on Saturday.

Birmingham have been busy in the Europa League this season and are already trying to catch up with the rest of the championship.

The midlands club have two games in hand on most sides in the championship despite having played twenty-six games already this season, four games more than Rovers.

The only time they haven`t played weekend and midweek since the season started has been during the international break.

Birmingham have now won just one of their last nine competitive games and Saunders is hoping his rejuvenated side can take advantage of Birmingham's congested fixture list.
Speaking on the official website, Saunders said, 'They have had lots of games this season as they are in Europe and hopefully that will take its toll.
It`s the travelling that does you in as anybody knows that when you go on holiday and you get off the plane your legs are swollen. That affects athletes when you have to play two to three days after that, and not only that you could be getting home late from games, not getting much sleep and your legs are like lead."

To make things worse for the travelling Birmingham players, their last four games have all been away.
In the last two weeks, Birmingham have travelled to Portugal to play SC Braga in the Europa League as well as domestic games at Blackpool, Cardiff City and Hull City.

Despite their poor recent form, Birmingham remain unbeaten at St Andrews this season having won five and drawn three games.
