DRFC Doncaster v Leicester Head To Head

Vital Doncaster looks at the head to head record between Doncaster and Leicester at both Belle Vue and the Keepmoat over the years.

Despite both clubs long histories this will be only the fifteenth clash between the two sides.

In the previous fourteen games, Doncaster have won four, Leicester three and there have been seven draws.

The first time the two met was during the 1901/02 season when Leicester were known as Leicester Fosse. Doncaster earned the points with a 2-1 win in a Second Division encounter.

Leicester had to wait until their tenth visit to Belle Vue before enjoying their first victory, when they won a Second Division clash 2-0 in February1954.

Rovers gained revenge in the next meeting when they recorded their biggest win with a 6-2 victory in September 1955.

Leicester are unbeaten on their last three visits to Doncaster.

The two sides met last season in Rovers last home game of the season.

Steve Brooker scored a rare goal to give Rovers an early second half lead. Yakubu equalised for Leicester in the final fifteen minutes to earn Leicester a draw. The point for Rovers was enough to secure their stay in the championship.
