DRFC Saunders - We are now hard to beat
Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders believes his side are now hard to beat after making it two wins in three games to move within touching distance of the clubs just outside the relegation places.
Rovers battled back from a goal down to beat preseason favourites Leicester City at the Keepmoat and Saunders believes their hard work is beginning to pay dividends.
Speaking on Radio Sheffield, Saunders said, "We were solid and we have had to work on being hard to play against, we were a push over. This league is about being solid, aggressive and determined and in between, you get little bits of football.
"For us to get out of the trouble we are in we have to be harder to play against and I think we are now."
Rovers have now picked up eighteen points in the fifteen games since Saunders arrived at the club, having previously picked up just one point from their opening seven games under previous boss Sean O`Driscoll.
The win moves Rovers six points clear of Coventry City at the bottom of the table who lost once again at Peterborough United.
Rovers got the perfect result when the two sides directly above them, Bristol City and Nottingham Forest met at Ashton Gate.
They shared the points in a 0-0 draw and Rovers are just two points behind both as the move into the busy festive period.
Ipswich Town were the only other side in the bottom six to win on Saturday as they beat Derby County 1-0 at Portman Road.
