Doncaster Rovers have landed a major coup by signing El Hadji Diouf on an eighteen-month contract.
Diouf signed for Rovers on a short-term deal in October, which was due to run out in January.
He has been linked with a move to big spending Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala in recent weeks.
The big spending Russian side made headlines in August when they signed Samuel Eto`o on a contract reportedly worth €20 million a season.
Doncaster boss Dean Saunders stated last weekend that he was close to agreeing a deal to keep Diouf at the club.
Diouf has made four appearances so far for Rovers and he has scored two goals, both coming in the 3-2 win at Ipswich Town.
He has been sidelined in recent weeks with a hamstring injury but is hoping to be back for the busy festive period, starting with the game at Burnley on Monday.
