DRFC Saunders - We can beat anyone

Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders believes his side can beat anyone in the division and he is hoping that the players can keep up the hard work that has lifted them off the bottom of the championship table in recent weeks.

Speaking on the official website, Saunders said, "We can beat anyone, and if the players think like that, we`ll be alright. If you`re not prepared to do the dirty stuff and 'put your head in` and fight then you can have a bad run."

Rovers started their busy festive period with a 3-0 defeat at Burnley on Boxing Day in a game that Saunders described earlier in the week as 'not a 3-0 game`.

They now face two games in three days, starting with a trip to Watford on Saturday.

Saunders believes the players hard work is beginning to pay off and despite the Boxing Day defeat at Burnley they will travel to Vicarage Road in good shape. "The players are in good shape for Watford, there looking fitter than ever and we`re battling as much as we ever have been because the players have realised they have to do the 'ugly` side of stuff to win," continued Saunders.

Rovers have picked up six points from a possible twelve so far in December.

They have beaten promotion chasing Southampton and Leicester City at the Keepmoat. Apart from Burnley, they were unlucky in defeat at another side hoping for promotion, Birmingham City.

Rovers finish off their festive fixtures, with a South Yorkshire derby against Barnsley at the Keepmoat.

The two sides only met last month at Oakwell with Barnsley winning 2-0.

Just need a consistent run to get away from the bottom. We win one then lose out.

All very well talking the talk - he certainly likes the 'win at all costs' approach, now need a run of consistent results
