DRFC Rovers face fight to keep Barnes

Doncaster Rovers face a fight to keep hold of Giles Barnes in January according to reports.

Barnes signed a short-term deal until January when he joined the club in the summer following his release from West Brom.

After struggling to hold down a regular first team place when he first arrived at the Keepmoat, Barnes is now a regular in the Rovers side under Dean Saunders.

The midfielder has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons but he has made 20 appearances for Rovers since his arrival in August.

Scottish giants Celtic as well as fellow championship sides Burnley, West Ham and Ipswich are all reported in being interested in signing Barnes

Saunders has already sorted out new deals for El Hadji Diouf and Pascal Chimbonda in recent weeks who were both out of contract in January.
