DRFC Rovers sign keeper

DRFC Rovers sign keeper

Doncaster Rovers have signed Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper David Button on loan.

The 22 year old has signed for Rovers on a one-month loan deal with only one fit senior goalkeeper at the club at the moment.

The England under 20 international will compete for a starting place with Gary Woods with both Neil Sullivan and Carl Ikeme currently facing spells on the sidelines through injury.

Button had a short spell on loan with Leyton Orient earlier this season making two appearances.

He spent the whole of last season on loan with League Two side Plymouth Argyle and he has also had spells with Grays Athletic, Dagenham and Redbridge, Crewe and Shrewsbury.

His only appearance for Spurs came as a late substitute, ironically against Doncaster in 2009.

Button will go straight into the Rovers squad for the game with Barnsley on Monday.

I agree, get him straight in. Woods is really poor.
