'If It's Football, It's Vital'

DRFC Saunders delighted with players performance

Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders was delighted with the performance of his players after beating Barnsley 2-0 when he admitted he thought they were all brilliant

Saunders was also full of praise for those players coming into the side.

Speaking on the official website , Saunders said, 'It's a great result for us. I thought that is the hardest the players have worked as a group. Some of the players that haven`t been playing recently have stepped up to the plate. I thought all of them were brilliant."

Rovers deserved the win against their South Yorkshire neighbours and won thanks to goals from James Hayter and Kyle Bennett who both came into the side.

With three new players expected to be available for the FA Cup clash with Notts County on Saturday, as well as a number of other players being linked with the club, Saunders says that if the side keep playing as they did against Barnsley it will be hard to drop anyone from the side.

"It`s going to be difficult to change the team. They all played well and if they keep winning I will keep the same team," continued Saunders.

The win moved Rovers back off the bottom of the Championship table above Coventry City who lost at West Ham.

Nottingham Forest stayed above Rovers in the table by two points after bringing to an end a run of seven games without a win by winning 3-1 at Ipswich Town.

The two sides just outside the relegation zone meet at Ashton Gate this evening when Bristol City host Millwall.

Got to start doing it consistently. We seem to have sorted our form out at home.

They need to because the sides outside the relegation zone are still four points clear. Another win and they are within touching distance of a number of clubs.
