DRFC Saunders - Sharp having Saints medical

Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders says the club have accepted an offer from Southampton for striker Billy Sharp with the player at St Mary`s undergoing a medical.

Speaking on the clubs official twitter page , Saunders said, 'We have accepted a deal for Billy from Southampton and he is having a medical now.'

Sharp turned down a move to Southampton last summer after the two clubs agreed a deal and he also turned down a move to Leicester City earlier in this transfer window, once again after the two clubs had agreed a deal.

The 25 year old is once again the leading goalscorer at the club this season having netted ten times already.

Fellow striker El Hadji Diouf is yet to sign an 18-month deal with the club after agreeing a deal at the end of December.

Diouf is out of contract at the Keepmoat after the game with Hull City on Tuesday night and much could depend on the deal involving Sharp moving to Southampton.
