Striker Di Piedi Signs

Striker Di Piedi Signs

After impressing whilst on trial at Rovers, Di Piedi has today signed until the end of the year. The Italian striker played for our South Yorkshire rivals under Paul Jewel, who signed him for a reported £2.2million in 2000. However, his second season at Hillsborough was blighted by injury and he was eventually released to return home where he joined A.S. Sora.

More recently he has been playing for Cypriot side Apoel Nicosia and Gela FC in Sicily.

Director of Football Mickey Walker told the club's official site:

'This is a great signing of a player who was hailed as a super signing back when he was 19 and played in Serie A when he was 17.'
