DRFC Saunders sickened by defeat

Doncaster Rovers manager Dean Saunders said he felt his side deserved to win at the weekend when they were beaten 3-2 at Leeds United.

Doncaster led 2-0 with just over thirty minutes remaining but were beaten by a fortuitous goal in the ninth minute of injury time.

Luciano Becchio`s poorly hit shot looked to be going well wide but came back to him off a colleague, who got in the way and he made no mistake with his second chance.

Saunders was left sickened by the defeat, which keeps Doncaster rooted to the foot of the championship table.

Speaking on the official website , Saunders said, "I thought we played ever so well and it was sickening to lose like that.

"We were up against a team who are only three points away from the play-offs and I thought we outplayed them for most of the match."

Doncaster must now dust themselves down and get ready for a crucial home game with Peterborough United on Saturday.

They are now four points from safety after Nottingham Forest beat fellow strugglers Coventry City at the weekend.

At 2-0 and cruising they went all out for more goals. Even at 2-2 in injury time were still trying to win. Learn to shut up shop.
