DRFC Saunders - A point was the least we deserved

Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders felt his side deserved at least a point after dominating possession against play-off chasing Brighton at the Keepmoat.

Rovers fell behind halfway through the first half when poor defending allowed Craig Mackail-Smith time and space to put the visitors ahead.

El Hadji Diouf equalised for Rovers late in the game and Saunders felt they deserved to win.

Speaking on Radio Sheffield, Saunders said, "We ended up getting a point but I thought we dominated possession all the way through the game.

"I think they had one attack in the first half and scored and it was a terrible goal from our point of view.

"We missed chances as usual. I thought Giles Barnes had scored from a free kick.

"I told the lads at half time, I thought we were the better team and we just needed to keep knocking on the door.

"I thought we deserved to win the game really and we got a point out of it.

"Luckily all the results have gone our way, but at least we fought back and got back into the game."

Rovers must now prepare for a crucial game at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Forest have picked up seven points from a possible nine in their last three games and are six points above Rovers in the table.
